They will apply for delisting to PSX, whether the application gets approved is another story. Delisting of a famous brand can have some impact on investor sentiment and indices. PSMC had already been removed from the KSE-100 index recently but it still can cause waves, so we can expect the regulator to be more prudential about letting them go.

If you see https://dps.psx.com.pk/company/PSMC, the trading price is not that bad and has recovered a lot in the last quarter. If you minus the anomalies due to covid lockdown and post-covid sales boom, the share price is fine enough.

Or they can potentially see in the future that sales will recover and so will profits. So they wil use this time to buy back those 26.49% shares which are being freely bought & sold in the stock market by commoners like me & you. Then later on, they don’t have to dole out dividends to those ¼ of the shares (because of requirements of SECP to pay out dividends). They can rather keep those profits too.

Japanese auto brands have played games with Pakistani public for so long everything feels like a façade and a slight. Can’t trust on face value.
