How long will this road last?

Euro 4 and Euro 5 truck? Where? What brand? Why didn’t you share a brochure?
I doubt that any Chinese branded trucks or buses come with Euro 4 or Euro 5 emission standards in Pakistan. The German trucks are there but they are too expensive to buy and maintain and therefore, are only used by N.L.C. on a small scale.
P.S. Moreover, you have forgotten the use of Mitsubishi truck by Coca-Cola as well. It is also a durable truck.
P.P.S. Lastly and with due respect, what exactly Pakistani public is doing for environment? They smoke, chop off tree barks and leave them to rot, throw litter even in parks with bins available. Thus, in my view and considering our adventurous actions, this little effort must be lauded and this work needs praises to boost Coke’s confidence, who knows that they may extend this type of work to entire Pakistan.

Yes. Coca-Cola should also notice that their coke bottles are transported in old Mazda T3000 and newer Hino Dutro 300 trucks. Mazda trucks are older tech with no emissions standard. The Dutro are newer but still Euro 1 according to webpage and Euro 2 according to brochure see for yourself here https://www.hinopak.com/trucks.htm.

Other trucks in the market are Euro 3 Euro 4 and Euro 5.
So Coca-Cola’s corporate social responsibility only limited to 1 km road in the whole country? Where is their environmental love when these smoky-smogy trucks are running thousands of km in the whole country everyday?

On the one hand cycling is being very promoted in Islamabad these days, on the other hand this road does not have a cycling track. Where is the footpath? Isn’t walking on foot a lot more environmentally sustainable than using vehicles? The arrangement for vehicular traffic has been made, what about the bicycular and pedicular traffic?

This road is recarpeted, look at the condition of shoulder. So many cracks.
Vehicles are parked on the shoulder because no arrangement for parking?

Ancient carburetted dabb-kharabbay Bolan and Margalla can be seen in greater number (later 2012+ Bolan is SPFI but low fuel economy still). Fuel efficient new cars are in fewer numbers. The fuel they are using are high sulfur, MMT and high emissions grade Euro2.

So the blacktop is improved for environmental sensitivity but how about the pedestrians, cyclists, fuel efficiency and fuel quality?

Where to find the recyclable materials in enough quantity and suitable quality to make it a sustainable practice?
How about the durability of the road? If it breaks soon won’t it be futile from sustainability POV?

Countless praises to all the people involved in its making, may you extend such efforts to entire Pakistan.

This was adopted way early by many countries like India I think decades ago, and it’s a very viable and rugged solution for a road made out of recyclable material. Still, better late than never.

…I just hope they adopt this and use this for other roads as well on a larger scale, and not let this road be the only plastic road.
