Yet Pakistan imports it’s oil….
Pakistan is an agricultural Nation…
Yet we import a lot of wheat, suger, grain etc…
We have the capability to manufacture fighter jets and weapons, artillery and armored vehicles….
Yet we still can’t make simple engine for cars such as the infamous Mehran…
Our local parts vendors/manufacturers are screaming for government support….
Yet they are completely ignored because the cartel of the international companies controlling the auto sector is gas lighting the government and the people into thinking everything is just fine with them…
What’s wrong with this picture?
In a country like Pakistan, with the oil reserves that we boast about and with the manufacturing potential that we seems to posses and the agricultural prowess that we are so proud of, We should NOT be facing such stupid, self inflicted issues.
What has the current government in charge done to MAKE Pakistan self sufficient, instead of just selling everything to the highest paying companies and/or increasing taxes?
Instead of concentrating on tax increases, maybe it would have been beneficial to promote, develop and bolster our local companies and businesses and farmers to be self sufficient in production. Imagine the export costs that can be saved that way.

These engines have higher than necessary fuel consumption due to multiple reasons. Gensets, engine-powered pumps and most of all the motorcycles and rickshaws have not been upgraded to EFi. These engines cannot take the new-technology fuel efficiency oils either.

We are paying the prices of 2021 to buy the technology of 1970s, which in turn uses more fuel, which in turn keeps us poorer as a country since we are a net importer of oil. Where is the patriotism & corporate social responsibility of automotive companies and genset manufacturers who want to earn their money in Pakistan from Pakistani consumers but do not want to introduce newer technologies which could benefit Pakistan and the environment as a whole?
