You are absolutely alright. Total agree with you.
I would only add that Volkswagen and Hyundai are able and already made some luxury car.
But Peugeot absolutely not.
In fact before Stellantis, PSA premium brand was DS, but DS even the french peoples doesn’t buy, DS is just wannabe premium, they alway look to compete against the german but never were able.
Before DS, PSA premium brand was Citroen,, i already owned one, they are comfortable when peugeot isn’t, but they was always the quality built, quality of material, engine size and technologycaly behind the german.
If i’am talking about that well you know i was born in France, passionate by car and i’am very well aware of the history, mentality.

Because Kia is Korean and Peugeot is French. It is a kind of racism where euro-centrism in automotive culture is highly regarded. In fact Japanese vehicles have been better value than European and American vehicles for decades, but hollow and subjective terms like “lacking character” et cetera et cetera have been regularly used to sugar-coat their own short-comings and malign the better products coming from Asia.
It is colonialism all over again.

They are pretending Peugeot is some kind of king when in fact in its home ground Europe itself it always has been a pariah.

Wisdom says Kia has much better brand value these days. Mercedes reduced their warranty from from 15 years to 4+3 years, BMW reduced theirs from 4 years to 2 years and Kia increased their warranty from 3 years to 10 years. Go figure.

You wil find PW a big promoter and justifier of this car for this price. Post a negative comment they will delete. Usman bhai on the other hand writes realistically and in the interest of customers. Wish he has a platform like PW.

Companies are targeting elites not the general public and they are buying which is satisfactory for the companies. They don’t care about the numbers. This car was initially rumered at the price of 2.8 to 3.3 million.look where it stands now. Hilarious!

Peugeot is like to France what Volkswagen is to Germany, and what Hyundai is to Korea. It’s a basic people’s car brand but here they are selling them as “luxury”, and I bet it’s only because it looks flashy. Shame that even these new comers want to keep us backwards
