Peugeot e-2008 Previewed at 2008 Manila Auto Show

Peugeot has officially previewed the e-2008 at the 2023 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS). Its appearance at Peugeot Philippine’s MIAS show offers a peek at the brand’s upcoming electrification drive for both the international and local markets.

As the name suggests, the e-2008 is the zero-emission electrified version of Peugeot’s popular 2008 B-segment crossover and gets the same stylish design as its ICE counterpart. Apart from badges, there isn’t any significant difference between the ICE version and the electrified one, sparing the grille which is almost completely shut since it doesn’t have an engine at the front, while the charging port remains hidden where the fuel cap is supposed to be.

The e-2008 uses an electric motor paired with a 50-kWh battery. At the most, this EV system can provide up to 130 hp of power and 260 Nm of torque. According to Peugeot, the e-2008 also features an estimated range of 345 kilometers. Note that the e-2008 also provides 30 Nm more torque compared to the regular internal combustion-powered 2008.

A 100 kW DC fast charger helps to charge the Peugeot EV quickly. In fact, it may fill up to 80% in just 30 minutes. Commenting at the launch, Maricar Parco, Peugeot Philippines Brand Head said:

“The Peugeot e-2008 taking centerstage at our MIAS display is intended to give our customers a preview of the future with Peugeot. It is a symbol of our goal to give as many people as possible access to electrified mobility.”

At the show, Parco also announced the inclusion of new variants of the Peugeot 3008 and 5008 SUVs in the Phillippines market. “With two variants– Active & Allure, each with its own character and persona, our discerning Filipino customers will have a wider selection of PEUGEOT vehicles to choose from to find the best match for their lifestyle needs,” she added.
