Why don't we have a government backed company which is exploring the same business model in order to localize EV production in Pakistan? "Interestingly, despite not having a domestic car brand, the auto parts industry is already the second largest industrial sector in Poland." In contrast our parts vendors are Suffering and dying under the boot heel of PAMA! They cannot even export parts with out their say so. The parts vendors are a separate entity. PAMA should not have any hold over them. Our parts manufacture (and export) industry is being strangled by the local mafia.

Totally agreed. If we ignore this change in the auto industry we do so at our own peril. We will suffer as a nation.

Unfortunately we are being manipulated by the wrong auto brands. Sure they were and are still (for the time being) some of the big names, but they have shown clearly they are not the future. If our decision makers opinions can easily be “modified” by them and If we only stick with them because of resale value, we will soon find ourselves left far behind everyone else.

EVs are easier to make than old school ICE cars. The fast adoption of many countries to make their own has shown that. Yet here we are. A trading partner with china and yet we have not pursued this avenue of the auto sector at all. The reason is simple. The decision making powers of our decision makers are not their own.

"The creation of Polish brand of electric cars can benefit everyone: drivers, large companies, entrepreneurs and the Polish state, among others. As regards the justification of the investment in the project, the question should not be whether we can afford to invest in such an enterprise, but whether we can afford to abandon the efforts to create it" i just hope someone from our decision makers read & understand this :(

so India, Turkey, Vietnam, Iran, Morocco, Poland all have realized the importance of having a homegrown car brand, and after 30 years what’s the progress of our local auto industry courtesy 3 termites, wait for imports to open so they can import ckd parts and assemble here, squeeze the market & then sell their discarded featureless low-quality garbage for sky-high prices. when will our govt say enough is enough and lets start to make a basic car for the people?
