This also clears up why the local assemblers are always advocating against used car imports. I think it is all about the money. They know small car imports are very badly required in the market. Unfortunately, the allowance of import by the government of those small used cars will eat into their parts import allowance. The more used car imports are banned, the more dollars they will be/can be allowed for their own parts imports. It makes sense.
