In addition to performance, the #1 Brabus also differs itself from the regular variants in terms of aesthetics, both on the outside as well as inside. Exterior styling elements include twin nostrils on the edge of bonnet and a sportier-looking front bumper, complete with a more aggressively-styled grille. There are expressive diffusers on the front and rear bumpers, specific side sills as well as a rear spoiler and 19-inch dynamo-styled alloy wheels. The #1 Brabus adorns dual-tone paint scheme with a host of red accents.

Inside, the black-themed interior features an Alcantara/leather-wrapped steering wheel with Brabus badging, microfiber suede seats and headrests with a Brabus logo in red stitching. Pedals are finished in alloy, whereas the red contrast theme continues with a number of accent highlights and red seatbelts.

While the standard smart #1 models are powered by a rear-mounted electric motor offering 268 hp and 343 Nm, enabling the car to to the 0-100 km/h run in 6.7 seconds, the Brabus variant gets an additional front motor, with the dual-motors providing a four-wheel drive configuration. This setup increases its output to 422 hp while the 0-100 km/h sprint time shortens to just 3.9 seconds.

Smart has yet to officially launch the #1 EV anywhere outside of China, however it is expected to be available in Europe soon as the model has already been submitted for EU homologation. The Smart #1 EV along with its high-performance Brabus variant may begin reaching other global markets from 2023 onward.
