I see, but then, they will very, VERY likely compromise the quality if they were to build a plastic chassis bike. We have a habit of providing 3rd class quality control with overinflated prices, just look at Atlas Honda!
We could go with fiberglass composite chassis as we already have a good industry and expertise for fiberglass in Pakistan, however, I don’t think that it would be cheaper considering it takes more labor to make them.

A metal chassis with plastic body parts seems like the best option, imo. There are many successful examples to this, the Corvette uses an aluminum chassis coupled with fiberglass body panels. This makes it light, quick and rigid, but also still cheaper and more affordable than a sports car with fiberglass/carbon fiber chassis. Another example is the Pontiac Fiero and the Trabant, both of which had inner steel chassis and used outer parts made of plastic. Doing so made them easily mass producible and affordable.

A plastic chassis doesn’t sound that bad, not all plastics are easily flexible, there are thousands of kinds of plastics and there is at least one suitable for any task at hand. But they must make sure no compromises to quality.

Most things that once used to be made with metals are now made with plastic. Even the steel rebar sarya in RCC now now has a pseudo-alternate in the form of plastic rebar farya, previously it was being imported but since at least past 5 years, it is being manufactured in Pakistan: https://t-rodinternational.com/

Other examples: From metal crockery to porcelain to glass and now on to melamine. From RCC overhead water tanks to GMSA fiber or plastic. From teen ki chaadar wali chhat to fiber ki naali wali sheet.

F1 racing cars now have a carbon-fibre chassis or driver safety cell.

On another note, is there any law stopping that motorcycle assemblers from using fiber fuel tank, plastic mudguard etc.
Surely there wasn’t any when auto assemblers shifted from steel bumpers to rubber bumpers in the early 1980s, then to plastic bumpers in the late 1990s. The JDM Alto comes with plastic fenders, what is stopping the local assemblers from doing the same?

I think they likely mean plastic body bikes, at least in my opinion. A plastic chassis bike is just completely stupid, since a chassis in any vehicle acts as the main skeleton. You would not want the skeleton to be made of weak and easily flexible material, that’s just a recipe for disaster.

A plastic bike with mainly a light aluminum chassis and plastic parts and accessories (fuel tank, cladding if any, seats, mud guards, wheels, etc.) is likely what the stakeholders meant.

The article would be more complete (Completeness from 7C’s) if it mentioned the law which forbids plastic bodies.

2. Plastic bodyor plastic chassis? Clarification necessary. Because all motorcycles currently on market have plastic cladding.

3. Plastics are also petroleum-derived materials and will be affected by forex rate.

4. What kind of (vested) interest does the Employers Federation of Pakistan have in this topic?

But not if the wheels and tires of the three wheeler are made of plastic too! By that point you’ll basically have a motorized children’s bike 🤪

how many buses are burnt in Karachi every month? can you give an estimated figure or a source article? how can u say damaging and burning is the real reason behind buses in Karachi being lower than the rest of the country?

secondly, please tell us what do u smoke before posting such theories?
