In reply to Ali Khan. The reason they are asking for increased tariffs with the Chinese is because they KNOW that they cannot compete! Take for example our beloved local assemblers and how their mouths froth over even the smallest amount of used imports...

You know what, I agree with the Stellantis CEO. The tax brackets should be on par in both regions. Seems only fair. However the Europeans are not ready and don’t have the necessary skills or actual offerings which the Chinses have. So they are still lagging behind. However, if taxes are increased, it will cause undue tensions which the consumers in the region can do without. It seems like a catch 22 situation.
However, instead of complaining, maybe they should simply start competing. Just take up the challenge. But even they know how far behind they are and at this point they will have a very hard time catching up, if at all.
They’re stuck between a rock and a hard place.

yes their pants are getting wet but as last para says, if they increase tariffs in Europe, then china will copy, then what will these goras do? just buckle up and compete, but looks like europeans and even japanese are going to lose it on their home turf 😀 interesting times coming
