Adive from “experts” leading to bad maintenance & stupid modifications: #1 example is “Mota haaaailll ki lazzat” viz. the love affair with thick 20W-50 engine oil.

Absence of TPMS/TPCS also contributes to poor fuel economy as well as traffic accidents.

I believe there are many other reasons for fuel inefficiency. Instead of owners reading the owner’s manual, they take advice from “experts” which leads to bad maintenance and stupid modifications ruining the fuel economy. The disastrous infrastructures in cities involve excessive “speed breakers”, u-turns, and stop-and-go traffic, drastically reducing fuel economy, one of the reasons I avoid shortcuts in cities. If infrastructure is not the problem, there should be speed limits like 60 km/h in cities and 90 km/h on highways. That is pretty much the easiest solution for fuel economy and may also prevent fatal accidents. And the last thing I can think of fuel inefficiency is the launching of cars that have either small or obsolete engines. It seems like assemblers tried so hard to cut the cost as much as possible thinking it’s going to save more money, not realizing that it’s actually costing the country.
We might think getting a Hybrid or 660cc car is going to solve the problem, but there’s a reality. Unless these are going to be driven by a sane driver on slow or mid-lanes, I have seen them driven really hard in cities and dangerously fast on highways completely defeats the purpose of owning those cars, and then owners complain about them for their “poor” fuel economy.

By: CSPK original article demanding fuel efficiency https://carspiritpk.com/the-cost-of-fuel-inefficiency-how-pakistan-is-losing-billions/#comment-13983 Fri, 26 May 2023 16:40:04 +0000 https://carspiritpk.com/?p=68692#comment-13983 This!!!
I was thinking of addressing it in the comments – to request an article discussing that Pakistan is not focusing on the fuel efficiency of its engine fleet, whether it be cars, buses, trucks, motorcycles, rickshaws, generators or boats. The government never gives any fuel efficiency targets to engine-makers as well as fuelmakers neither they set any for themselves (it was common reporting from many readers that Euro 5 petrol gives better mileage). Neither do they take heed from the market. The automafia and oil-mafia are major contributors in the economic crisis.

It shows CSPK is far ahead of any others when it comes to original thought! I wonder why they don’t win any awards for journalism or something. I hope & pray this article gets lots of coverage in mainstream media as this is a very pertinent topic for all times. Well this will one topic where the routine copy-pasters will do a great service to the society by plagiarising.
