Cannot understand how the deaths are casually attributed to overspeeding.
They make it appear like Pakistanis don’t have the capacity of holistic thinking.

Before any investigation, the media trial has begun “alleged negligence, over-speeding, and rash driving were deemed responsible for the fatal accident“. What is unfathomable is that people generally have no boundaries and no sense of self-assessment that whether they are qualified to speak about the topic at hand or not.

Who has done the alleging? EMTs? Police? Judge? Journalists? Or bystanders at the scene?

It has been dramatically attributed to “Rising Incidents of Over-Speeding Crashes” and “Swift Action Against Over-speeding” has begun and by the way nobody will pay any thought to the fact that “collision with a motorbike rickshaw” (a separate incident discussed in the same article) will be immediately fatal because of the poor crash safety of the frame. Noone is asking about the main incident either, that how all the occupants immediately deceased?
In the end it is the responsibility of the foot constable to save lives while the higher-ups in the government will keep sleeping over any crash safety standards.

By: Poor headlight a major cause of road accidents https://carspiritpk.com/the-deadly-costs-of-ignoring-crash-safety-in-pakistan/#comment-13984 Sat, 27 May 2023 08:15:44 +0000 https://carspiritpk.com/?p=68712#comment-13984 Not only unpaved and broken contribute to the problem, poor illumination is another major problem. Either street lights are not present or are faulty. Pathetic headlights are major contributors to poor vision specially for 2-wheelers and 3-wheelers, which encounter hidden speedbreakers or potholes resulting in late night crashes. In the absence of properly illuminating headlights fitted from the factory, people resort to aftermarket upgrades which not only do not illuminate the path properly, they also cause glare in the oncomer driver’s eyes resulting in loss of control and even more accidents. Naturally these aftermarkets upgrades have been made illegal. The number one reason people resort to headlights upgrades is that factory-fitted headlights are worse illuminating than a dinner candle.

It is such a joke that if one of the headlights of your vehicle is off/fused traffic police will slap you with a fine yet the carmakers are free to install poorly illuminating high fuel consumption basic tungsten or halogen bulbs from the factory without any accountability, while newer tech such as adaptive LED matrix is present and becoming ubiquitous everyday.
