Usually that means 1000cc or less. If that is the case why are they so vehemently against the importing of these small cars for the general public?
If these guys are not interested in making the cheap small cars demanded/required by the majority of the nation and are only interested in selling over priced compact sedans and SUVs which can only be bought by a rich few, why oppose small car used imports? It is not disturbing their business and is providing much needed cheap transportation for the masses.
Also, all small cars from Japan are now very fuel efficient, meaning cleaner running cars and easier to afford to run.
The business of these local assemblers is costing the nation more than even remotely helping it.
