No wonder the local assemblers like the “free market of Pakistan so much”. It is actually free of any type of actual accountability for these companies.

That is why sales numbers which are actually considered failures in other markets are considered sales successes in Pakistan. Case in point the stopping of local manufacture of Civic in India because it was not selling well. The monthly sales numbers were almost identical to ours here in Pakistan. Yet, locally in India, it was retired. However, here in Pakistan, MASSIVE SUCCESS!!!

Unchecked profit margins, low quality parts and stripped out vehicles sold at the maximum possible price with unchecked price hikes multiple times a year and no pressure for any meaningful localization, makes countries like Pakistan a cash cow for them. Minimal effort for maximum returns. Just keep the right people fed. 👍
