BYD, Geely, GM and others are doing just that. Especially in the case of the Chinese, they are focusing on Hybrids AND EVs. Toyota talks as if EVs are something new and don't have over a decade of rising sales and adoption to speak for them. You want customer feedback and second hand market sales performance for them? Just look at online forums and the used car markets in many developed nations. Companies like BYD are giving million mile guarantees on their batteries. What more do you want? Toyota is acting like that bad student in class who knows that he/she is failing the class so they don't allow the other students to study in peace either by causing a ruckus.
