These concepts can be claimed under R&D and can be a good tax write-off for the companies. No wonder they love doing this. Even when they simply participate in these events, they can claim tax benefits because all that money spent on the event venue and presentation etc. can be considered suck costs which they can claim as tax deductible.
So, the more money they sink into these “R&D” projects, the better it is for them in tax relief.
