I agree, so many corporations and businesses are very slow in terms of software data/technology innovation. I have seen businesses still use 32 bit operating systems on their 64 bit machines not knowing that the last 32 bit computers that came out was way back in the early 2000s.

We also have to thank our education system, where we are still taught that Pentium 4 is the fastest processor ever made (a fact that was/is still wrong) even today… 🤦‍♂️

The story of pretty much every company is an underfunded, shortage of manpower, untrained or semi-trained IT staff and out-of-date software. Some of the companies still using Windows XP or Windows 7. Most websites in East Asia don’t even use https & green padlock. Even the IT-savvy users cannot keep their own PC up-to-date because IT department has locked everything down in the name of “security” whereas it is usually the untrained IT guys who have absolutely no idea of security. They keep pressurizing internal employees by making their machines unable to do practically anything, whereas external actors and nation states are moving fast!
Then hacks and attacks or even plain old self-propagating worms bring ransomware!
