Quote: the Ora 03 wears 18-inch wheels which is on par with most contemporary sedans offered in our market

No. The Corolla comes with 15″ on lower trims and 16″ on Altis trims.
Civic comes with 16″ for Standard and Oriel and 17″ on RS.

The only one from sedan & hatchback category is Sonata which has 18″ rims.
CUVs do come with 18″ though. Sportage e.g. comes with 17″ on the lowest Alpha trim while the other two trims come with 18″.

As far as I’m concerned, I prefer the 15″ standard size. It is much bigger than the 12″ we were used to in the 80s and 90s. Since larger outer dia of wheels means more comfortable ride, but recently they are increasing the rim size while not increasing the outer dia of wheel, instead the side walls have been reduced so the fuel economy as well as ride quality suffers. Also the smaller tyres are cheaper and it is easy to change the spare compared to a larger one in which more weight of metal and less weight of rubber is there.
