FAW X-PV has alot of owners asking about various concerns regarding electrical, mechanical and parts problems. I wanted to know if one should go for X-PV or switch to other options.

The very first introduction of FAW V2 to Pakistani public was back in 2010 through Usman Ansari’s thread on PakWheels forums – https://www.pakwheels.com/forums/t/faw-vizi-v2/164620

At that time nobody knew anything about Chinese brands and nobody even replied but OP had the vision, and when finally the car was launched (CBU/2014) then the thread was resurrected by other members.

Above the car of Laraib Imtiaz has been mentioned. Dedicated article about his V2: https://www.carspiritpk.com/2018/09/user-review-faw-v2-of-laraib-imtiaz/

V2 was launched in Pakistan in 2014, whereas it was offered in China 2010-2013. So basically just like Japanese automakers launching a discontinued model.

The last facelift of V2 (in Pakistan) was in 2017 and now it is too long in the tooth such as absence of projector headlamps (aftermarket ones are avilable and even one of the company-owned cars in use of their own staff has it but they are not offered as standard or option in Pakistan whereas even the commercial gaddi XP-V comes with), two-tone interior, etc. They are following the scheme of PakSuzuki selling the same things for years without even an upgrade.

If Al-Haj FAW would be listening, a killer vehicle for them would be the Toyota Cami/Daihatsu Teriosダイハツ・テリオス/Perodua Kembara which was sold as Huali Dario 华利特锐 in China and apparently Daihtasu sold off all tooling and equipment to FAW. So basically there is no double royalty involved however the Terios is an old design and would need upgrades such as modern 1000cc (for FWD) and 1300cc (for 4WD) Euro 5 engines, 4-wheel disc brake, electric power steering, LED projector headlamps, LED brake lights and tail-lights, wheel sizing downsize to 195/65R15, rear glass backup mirror etc. among others to bring an old but up-to-date product to market.

Its compact size (especially given our congested roads, narrow lanes and shortage of parking), ground clearance (helpful during urban flooding and on speed breakers), driving position, front fender parking mirror and road presence will make it wildly popular meanwhile maintaining low price point.

There could be an article on this topic.
