They have done something very clever. If you visit the site you will see that they sell BOTH the 11th and 12th gen corolla. The 11th gen, named Corolla Quest, is the more budget oriented model with a lower price tag and then the 12th gen corolla is the full fat, latest corolla experience. This is a very good approach for Pakistan as well I think. Sell both models. The 11th gen would be the cheaper option and the 12th gen would be the more up-to-date one for those who can afford the difference or want the hybrid treatment. Its ingenious! 🤯
I don’t know why the big three have not done this with their models here in Pakistan already. Suzuki Mehran (imported from china the same as the bolan and ravi😉) would be alive and kicking now. The old civic selling besides the new one etc. etc.

And the old gen of cars could be further made cheaper. For example, now that the 11th gen is almost completely obsolete in the world, why not just buy the tooling from Toyota for true local production? Same for the previous gen Civic or the one before. Jamali and the gang are always banging on about “localization”. If Vietnam could do it when starting Vinfast, why not us. Want to make sedans cheaper, well, here is your chance.
