The HS was always priced high from the start. I believe this MG3 might also get the same treatment unfortunately. That means a price around the 3 mil mark or more. However, what I would wholeheartedly suggest is, please bring only the 1.0L turbo to Pakistan. The turbo not only will give better power figures, but being a 1L, it would be in a lower tax bracket thus cheaper. We might gat a price closer to the 2.5mil mark.

Suzuki blew its chance with the new Swift. It gave us the completely wrong engine. The one Suzuki should have introduced was the 1.0L turbo booster jet. Better power, better performance, better fuel economy and most of all cheaper because of the lower tax bracket. (Yes, chances were, just because of the “turbo” engine, Suzuki could have asked a premium for it. But again, if it wanted to be competitive, it could have priced it low; as it should be.)

Same situation has now presented itself for MG. They can either take the Suzuki route and get the wrong larger engine. Or they can do it right and introduce the smaller but more powerful engine and really price it competitively and really give Suzuki a real run for its money.

If some one doubts this, then consider this. Both these cars are available in Australia. Yet the MG3 is the highest selling hatchback in the country. So this car has potential. Provided MG doesn’t muck it up.

Get the engine right!!!
