but its not just BJ40, the BAIC venture itself is being treated as an orphan. I remember the plant was ready and D20 sedan and X25 crossover were almost ready to be launched, they posted a video of their factory and assembly lines ahead of launch but later removed it from their social handles. This just went on sale in the Philippines. Its called the B40 Ragnar there and the reviewers are loving it!

On the issue of “Looks copied from the Jeep wrangler”; that is by design and under license from Jeep. BAIC did a JV with Jeep in China and through that they legally acquired and used the design of the Wrangler for the BJ40. This simple fact should have been highlighted and made abundantly clear from day one by sazgar and made a huge part of its marketing. Unfortunately Sazgar neglected this and, currently, people (wrongly) think its a knockoff copy. It is not! its a designed-under-license product. This a major oversight and marketing mistake from Sazgar.
Fun fact the BJ in the name of the BJ40 stands for “Beijing Jeep”.
