According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ev-volumes.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">EV-Volumes<\/a> data, 5 automakers continued to be responsible for more than half of all plug-in car sales.<\/p><div class=\"carsp-in-article\" style=\"margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center; margin-top: 10px; margin-bottom: 10px; clear: both; \" id=\"carsp-1533692644\"><script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-3921992284533937\" crossorigin=\"anonymous\"><\/script><ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display:block;\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-3921992284533937\" \ndata-ad-slot=\"2279435244\" \ndata-ad-format=\"auto\"><\/ins>\n<script> \n(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); \n<\/script>\n<\/div>\n<h3 class=\"subheader\">Plug-ins (BEVs + PHEVs)<\/h3>\n<p>In the plug-in category, which combines battery electric vehicles (BEVs) and plug-in hybrid vehicles (PHEVs), the top 5 automakers include BYD, Tesla, Volkswagen Group, Geely-Volvo, and SAIC. Those five groups sold more than 5.1 million rechargeable cars during the Q1-Q3 2023 increasing their share to <strong>54.7%<\/strong> from 52% a year ago.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-54326 aligncenter\" title=\"byd qin pro 96 033e0117071c04bd\" src=\"https:\/\/carspiritpk.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/byd_qin_pro_96_033e0117071c04bd-850x478.jpg\" alt=\"byd qin pro 96 033e0117071c04bd\" width=\"850\" height=\"478\" srcset=\"https:\/\/carspiritpk.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/byd_qin_pro_96_033e0117071c04bd-850x478.jpg 850w, https:\/\/carspiritpk.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/byd_qin_pro_96_033e0117071c04bd-250x141.jpg 250w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 850px) 100vw, 850px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>BYD\u00a0<\/strong>not only remains the largest group with over 2 million units registered but its share in the segment is growing faster than any other automaker, reaching <strong>21.9%<\/strong> up from 17.3% a year ago. <strong>Tesla, <\/strong>which sells only all-electric cars, maintained its second place with more than 1.3 million units sold and a <strong>14%<\/strong> share compared to 13.3% from a year ago. Geely-Volvo, was in fourth place with 579,005 units sold and a <strong>6.1%<\/strong> share up from 5.7% a year ago, while SAIC, with 514,670 registrations, was down from 7.6% to <strong>5.4%<\/strong>. SAIC-GM-Wuling): 514,670 and <strong>5.4%<\/strong> share (vs. 7.6%)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Top 5: 5,171,992 units and 54.7% share<br \/>\nOthers: 4,287,027 units and 45.3% share<br \/>\n<strong>Total: 9,459,019 units<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"subheader\">Battery-Electric Vehicles (BEVs)<\/h3>\n<p>In terms of all-electric car registrations, the BEV-focused Tesla remains the top manufacturer. The company witnessed over 1.3 million registrations, which is <strong>20.1%<\/strong> of the BEV segment (compared to 18.5% a year ago). BYD, which is second best, saw slightly over 1 million units sold for a <strong>15.9%<\/strong> share in the BEV segment, compared to 11.9% a year ago.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-60516 aligncenter\" title=\"tesla-cn\" src=\"https:\/\/carspiritpk.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/tesla-cn-850x478.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"850\" height=\"478\" srcset=\"https:\/\/carspiritpk.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/tesla-cn-850x478.jpg 850w, https:\/\/carspiritpk.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/tesla-cn-250x141.jpg 250w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 850px) 100vw, 850px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Tesla and BYD combined are responsible for <strong>36%<\/strong> of all BEV sales, compared to 30.4% a year ago. The two Chinese groups \u2013 SAIC and GAC \u2013 held <strong>7.5%<\/strong> and <strong>5.7%<\/strong> share, respectively.
