JingHu, which is an abbreviation of Jing京 for Beijing and Hu沪 for Shanghai (don’t ask me why Shanghai is called Hu in short form xD ).

https: //www.google.com/maps/dir/Beijing,+China/Shanghai,+China/@35.4510973,113.6502602,6z/data=!4m15!4m14!1m5!1m1!1s0x35f05296e7142cb9:0xb9625620af0fa98a!2m2!1d116.407395!2d39.904211!1m5!1m1!1s0x35b27040b1f53c33:0x295129423c364a1!2m2!1d121.473701!2d31.230416!3e0!5i1

The road network in China is extensively developed with lots of redundancy, so there are literally dozens of highways you can take for this route.

The distance is around 1200-1300 kilometers depending upon where you want to go inside the city, because both these cities are megacities. Generally speaking this is around the same distance as Lahore to Karachi.

But the more amazing thing is the railway connection between the 2 cities.
The G1 bullet train departs every morning @07:00 AM from Beijing and in exactly 4h29m you’ll be in Shanghai with 2 stops in between.
The G1 uses the Fuxing复兴号 train which was inaugurated at 370 km/h but usually it is at 350 km/h.
There are 3 or 4 bullet trains from Beijing to Shanghai per hour, around 1 train every 15-20 minutes. Some trains take more time because they make more stops.

China is economically very diverse, still a developing country with a large poor segment. Not everybody can afford bullet train ticket. A number of tiers of trains are available serving people belonging to all income groups. The slowest train takes 18h49m.
Now compare it with our own Karachi-Lahore and Lahore-Karachi train timings which are over 30 hours in most cases.

During the time all of us drool over SU7, we must also keep in foresight that no country can progress without a competitive train system.
To know more about the Fuxing train:

These trains are EV too.
