Even they have seen which way the wind is blowing and adapted. Why this resistance from the Japs? They say the customers is always right. The others have seen what the customers want and changed their approach to give them that. Toyota still wants to force their customers to only want what they think the customers should want or have. Like a spoiled child in my opinion.]]> With these results we can see the Hyundai Ionic 5 is now the “new prius” of the new mobility age. That car has the right ingredients to carry EVs forward.

With just one win, we can see from the results how quickly Toyota is becoming irrelevant. ALL the other wins are by EVs.

Unfortunately, from Toyota’s attitude towards EVs, we can clearly see that it is still not serious about them. Instead of concentrating on in house innovation like the rest on this list, Toyota is now in the process of populating its EV line with tech licensed from BYD. You know, pay royalties to BYD for using their technology. While it still tries to revive and hold on to dying ideas such as the ICE engine (petrol or hydrogen) and not acknowledge the future.

Is Toyota destined to go the way of the dodo? 🤷‍♂️

Maybe they are a no-entity whom the major portion of people are still looking askance, good old Toyota.
