I agree brother, Honda City 6th generation can now be observed on the roads while travelling, its physical numbers are greater than Stonic and even Alsvin. I also agree about the need for increasing the localisation of car parts to avoid draining precious foreign reserves.
By the way, you are correct, Bangladesh in the last three year period seems to have been suffering from rising imports.

There are few countries which do not have the half-assed drama of “local assemblers”. Either the countries have their own national brands, IP and R&D. Or they are net importers of automotive. Both type of countries are doing exactly fine w.r.t GDP, capita per income and purchasing power.

Bangladesh is having a fine time with their economy despite local manufacturing as well open imports and lower taxes on local & imported cars as well. Their foreign exchange is no so precious because they have an abundance of it. Our foreign exchange is precious because we have so little of it.

Just look at how wrong your logic is just because you are painting an incomplete picture:-

CBU drain money out of the country so always should be localised

This is about CBU which is not localised. What about the impact of CKD which has never been localised either? <wink-wink-nudge-nudge>

Bangladesh CBU city is actually draining precious foreign exchange. Just like all JDMs.

I guess you meant used orphaned JDMs. How about this https://carspiritpk.com/fbr-suffers-22-billion-used-car-imports/ when government itself declared that banning used orphan JDM imports hurt their taxes?

Stop being a propaganda mouth organ and look at the reality.

1.correction: 3000+ were booked by investors NOT delivered to customers. period.
2.not at all selling well. more than 6 months & very very rarely seen on the roads
3.CBU drain money out so does the CKD. everything is being imported just to assemble here so where is the localisation?
4.with strong GDP, Bangladesh City is not draining foreign reserves. at least giving the public what they deserve. not living in delusion of buying CKD imported cars in the name of local which are as bad as CBU cars

So whatever we say this young Dinasour is selling rather well and unlike Stonic, it’s now actually visible on the road. CBU drain money out of the country so always should be localised, Bangladesh CBU city is actually draining precious foreign exchange. Just like all JDMs.
