This discussion about ventilated seats is most relevant for Commercial Vehicles, hence it was linked here: https://carspiritpk.com/lack-of-creature-comfort-in-local-assembled-commercial-vehicles/#comment-18777

For those with older cars who are going for re-upholstery/refurnishing of the seats, a ventilated seat retrofit is a plausible quality-of-life upgrade.

There are a number of videos from India (a hot and humid country, just similar to Pakistan) where it is a commonplace upgrade and doesn’t really cost much, different videos show it ranging from 3000 INR to 15000 INR per seat. In fact a true value-for-money expense. Meanwhile Pakistani accessories shops haven’t given it much of a consideration.

Provided that the upgrade is done in an electrically safe manner with soldered wiring, fuse and relay, it will be number one on my list.

If you have a newer car, there are certain seat covers which have integrated fans and air channels. For a new car, you don’t need to change the foam if you choose to convert your normal seat into a vented seat, but you’ll still have to have the cover ripped off and then sewn on again. If you don’t want this kind of violence done to your new(er) vehicle, you can just apply a ventilated seat cover and revel in the cool-a*s pleasure offering increased prevention from future health problems like piles, hernia, constipation, anal fissures and what-not.

In fact ventilated seat upgrade is a widely appealing upgrade compared to rear A/C vents because it can be done to any and every vehicle by simply carving out parts of the cushion foam and a simple electrical connection along with off-the-shelf fans similar to those used in desktop PCs, while for rear A/C vents can only be availed in those cars which have it factory-fitted.

Totally agreed. 🤣

With Pakistan’s hot weather, the simpler ventilated seats rather that the heated verity would be excellent for Pakistan.

And there is research to back it up:

After the rear A/C vents, ventilated seats is my new love. It completely dries any sweat-drenched buttock and back. Total safety from swamp-ass!

While cooled seats are also a thing, I’d rather prefer the simple ventilated seats which circulates the cabin air through the seat cushion and back cushion, whether you’re warming the cabin or cooling it.

Apparently not a single assembler in Pakistan offers vented seats. It seems so stupid having a sweaty rump after having spent millions on a new car.
