congratulations, so you finally think Pakistan’s education level can make things locally and people should support it…

Of course! According to his logic, it’s the people and their lack of education that has brought the Auto Industry to it’s current level, not because of the government heavily restricting used imports thus unbalancing the “free market”, giving the assemblers no proper limitation to the amount of imports they can do, no check and balance on amount of parts imported versus manufactured and most importantly, no check and balance on percentage of profit.

If all of Pakistan takes a degree in Oxford just like Khurram, everything will be A-OK. America will literally fall to Pakistan’s feet and beg for mercy, everyone will have houses made of gold and most importantly, everyone will drive Land Croozers because they will only cost 25,000PKR. 😒

so once again the comment section is started to getting polluted. by his logic, commentators are shamelessly buying automotive fuel and oil from foreign brands. How on earth can outflow of dollar be arrested if even locally made product does not find customers. But his blind sight cannot see assemblers are shamelessly buying/importing everything from other countries which is the main cause of dollar outflow.

These actions may sound small but practically and theoretically they do leave an effect on the balance of trade, which in return affects foreign exchange.

and then exactly due to this, when someone starts to talk in support of making things locally, the same Khurram comes to with his polluted argument that education levels in Pakistan cannot make this n that… but yet according to his logic education levels are good enough to make General Tyres, seat covers, floor mats, and maybe even JF17 fighter aircraft but anything that local assemblers are not willing to make is due to low education levels lol

Yet again, another comment that discusses nothing about the relative article.

If all of our Pakistanis were absolutely 100% educated, despite your terrible misconception and mistaken assumptions, it would still not magically fix the auto industry.

The reason the auto industry is the way it is is because of loopholes and uncertainties in government laws, not because the people of this country have been educated in mud schools unlike being Oxford graduated like you.

Our dear companies don’t use local manufactured parts over imported parts simply because they are not required to by the law, and simply because it’s cheaper to import than to manufacture for them. 🙂

How much crude petroleum is PSO pumping from Pakistani soil?
How many oil refineries does PSO own through which PSO is refining fuel products (diesel petrol HFO kerosene) and oil (engine oils gear oils greases and lubes).

Moreover, in my view, it is not just S.K.D. imports that are to be blamed, fuel and oil is another reason as well, the P.S.O. is our local brand, and it is producing around 40% of total fuel products it is selling. Yet certain commentators are miring its hard work with lies on this forum while shamelessly still buying automotive fuel and oil from foreign brands. How on earth can outflow of dollar be arrested if even locally made product does not find customers. Same holds true for car parts that are made here, people prefer tyres from China over General tyres, people buy imported seat covers and foot mats despite locally made product of mid grade quality being available in the market. These actions may sound small but practically and theoretically they do leave an effect on the balance of trade, which in return affects foreign exchange.
