The early adopters will buy it with less price (I suppose 2 lakh) more value in comparison to its rivals.Once it’s on the road it’s drive and reliability over couple of days will be important.Once quality perception changes for the quality Chinese manufacturer that market is unaware of as of today.The market share will definitely change within days.

You are right but I was speaking while keeping myself in mind and there are still out there who stick with brand and Toyota is one such brand. Even in international market the first second hand car that is bought by people looking for long-term ownership is Toyota Corolla or Prius. 2017 Camry had been rated as the most durable second hand car by Forbes and JD power. Lastly, please forgive me but Hyundai is not a Chinese, it is a Korean and even with that nationality, internationally it is not considered close to Toyota by the masses looking for long-term ownership. Another, thing, you say Middle East eh? My cousin lives there, he owns a Toyota Corolla and reports that Hyundai is bought by people who are considered to be less affording. While brand cautious people go for a Toyota or other famous brands.

The same was said overseas but if u see Hyundai took a big share of market in middle east due to competitive price and excellent performance. Yes Toyota brand is most popular but when it comes to price people do consider other options

Do you really reckon that a Chinese car is going to be able to knock a Japanese car? At-least the Toyota cars have proven their durability in long-term and for most of the masses this durability matters. I for one am still waiting for a good second had Yaris or Ciaz to show up in ads and there are several other Toyota buyers out there who shall not buy a Chinese car.
