That’s true. Their attitude leaves much to be desired…

They have an opportunity. Its a shame that they seem to be wasting it.

I myself was expecting to see the newer Chery QQ get launched, either from Ghandara or from United, I have heard a lot of good talk about this model. However, we shouldn’t expect anything competitive from United anymore as their strategy so far has been to get retired cheap discounted kits and then sell them here for a quick buck…

Good point. They will have a bad time of upgrading their products.

One other thing. In The interior of the united alpha, you will notice the dash trim does not leave any room for a passenger air bag. We can see no cut out like there is in the dash of many JDMs like the passo and vitz etc.

The thing is I owned the original QQ and that did have the cutout for the airbag compartment in the dash. The original QQ did come with two airbags in China and in other markets such as Singapore, Brazil and Philippines as options way back in 2005, 2006.
In Pakistan, they removed them or did not give the option at all.

So, in a way, united got the down graded version Of the original QQ. They can upgrade if they try…

But still I hope Chery take this segment of car buyers seriously and does give them a good and cheap option like the latest gen of the QQ can potentially be.

United just played themselves, those smartasses. One “two airbags mandatory” law later and they now have their entire 4 wheeled vehicle lineup obsolete and unable to sell. Even players like Suzuki know that you can’t just launch an obsolete model and expect it to sell in this modern day and age…

It is the second generation of the QQ that has been sold by Chery since 2013. It is the size of the Kia picanto and is 1000cc as well. It will be an excellent addition for the masses. And it has the potential to be priced very low as well.

Let’s hope they make it happen. Properly this time. Unlike what United did with the Alpha (which is the first gen QQ with a facelift).
