They saw a complete lack of EVs in their market and they took that opportunity. Safe to say that Hyundai isn’t going to be the first to enter Japan, we might even see Chinese vendors offering EVs when the Japanese fail to deliver.

Another proof as to why Toyota Way has always interested theorists, only this time Hyundai is going to be studying industrial view point of Toyota Way. It is not puzzling, the brand began by crafting their brand identity through imitating the German designs. Seemingly the strategy isn't working as well as their hopes, so they are now re-positioning themselves like a Toyota. I wonder what shape their identity is going to be after few years.
