Exactly. They must control their price. Only way to get noticed and win costumes.
You are right about these cars being strictly middle class.
I have friends and family in the US. When I tell them that the standard Camry hybrid costs over a hundred thousand dollars in Pakistan, they usually burst out laughing.
That is that problem in Pakistan, no price control. No monitoring of the companies and asking them to justify their prices.
All this tech and creature comforts are now strictly middle class. Yet in Pakistan we are shown them like they are something very special and premium only. How sad.

Kizashi was a different story altogether, it was launched 2 years after getting discontinued from the world. It was just an attempt to get rid of the unsold units in a third-world market. Suzuki never pushed it, they know with production already stopped couple of years ago, sourcing parts was always going to be impossible. Plus no one knew Suzuki website at that time mentioned no extended warranty on Kizashi as well…

Ummm, Sonata is midsize sedan, not high-end luxobarge. But your stance has some merit if seen according to our local market in which Grande and Civic are ultra-elite items, something bigger than them is going to be “exquisite”.

Suzuki already failed with their Kizashi in this segment, evn though it wasn’t a bad vehicle at all. Accord and Camry aren’t being sold anymore due to their extraordinary CBU prices making them more expensive than SUVs and Germans. Sonata stands a chance in the market but only if they don’t price themselves out.

Exatly, not only competitive but brands should be true to the car value, and don’t put over exagerated prices, this sonata could change the car market in Pakistan, making the midsize segment a lot more visible on road.

The projections for the price were over 8 million. But at the price they have given, this is a very good addition to the market.
Due to the lack of options in the market, a lot of people, who actually wanted to spend more for something that was “high-end and luxury”, only had the options of the grande or the civic turbo, oriel etc or look in the used imported car market.
But now, we have an actual luxury car for this upper segment.
Word of advice; DON’T JACK UP THE PRICE!!!!
Keep it competitive. That is the only way to attract customers.
