I think what we will get here as the “top spec RS Turbo” at around 5.5 million minimum will be the equivalent of the Pilipino base variant.

That is 100% guaranteed, we’ll just get a shittier version with everything stripped out for the same price as a top spec.

And I don’t understand why the Civic HAS to come with that old 1.8. I thought the 1.5 would serve as a better and cheaper selling point since it would be taxed lesser. Plus it’s a turbo. You’re literally getting more horsepower out of a 1.5 than you would with that 1.8.

Keep in mind that all cars, SUVs etc. are imported in Philippines. The Civic there is only available as 1.5 Turbo with three variants. Prices are also given in the video.

The base variant around 4.3 million PKR (When converted), the middle spec and the RS version at around 6 million PKR.

I think what we will get here as the “top spec RS Turbo” at around 5.5 million minimum will be the equivalent of the Pilipino base variant. The reason is simple, some of the upgrades that the RS gets is a leather interion, 11 speaker Bose sound system as standard and an RS body kit. No way we are getting that here.

Just FYI. The new Civic comes with the 1.5 engine mainly and the 2.0L in some other markets like the USA. We in Pakistan will definitely be given a 1.8 civic because that is the top seller here. As usual it will be the same old engine from the current Civic in Pakistan; only the price will be jacked up to around 5 mill.

This car will either achieve two things with it’s presence in the market:

• Either it will create competition b/w Corolla and Elantra since this will be the latest model among them two and hence probably will be more demanded than those in the market, leading to Toyota and Hyundai probably launching newer models of their lineup as well

OR

• It would increase the “value” of a C segment vehicle and prompt Toyota/Hyundai to drastically increase their prices so that it comes in the range of this new Honda Civic.

Knowing how things work in Pakistan, I could unfortunately presume that it’s gonna be the latter. 🙄
