exactly.. even the Toyota Fortuner which is a mid-sized SUV comes in 4×4 and 4×2 (petrol 2.7) that doesn’t mean its not an SUV. I have seen these two guys on PW they have questionable knowledge and absolutely weak understanding of things but running high on egos,, commenting as if they are pros and no one else knows nothing

The Cruiser’s capabilities were never the issue. The issue you two have is with the term “SUV”; for some odd reason… 🤷‍♂️🤔

Calling it an SUV describes its vehicle type or category. Calling it a 4×4 or off-roader describes its main ability or feature.

Everywhere I have looked, even the experts and professional journalists are calling it what it is… an SUV.

I agree, S.U.V.’s platform and technicality is way different than a 4*4, I believe that that is why it is also classified as an off-roader, you are right. I researched and found that even the U.N., Red Cross and other organisations engaged in doing a remote work use specifically either Land Cruiser, Land Cruiser Prado or Land Cruiser J70. In fact, even in Pakistan the American or other foreign embassies uses the Land Cruiser V8, I think the reason is it is a 4*4 based on off-road platform, were it a S.U.V., these people would simply have either imported other vehicles or used a Sorento. Sadly, these four people are too full off themselves to read and research over the facts given by other side of the debate, one of them has even ranted about the goodness of the E.V. in the past, he believes that they are clean.

Toyota Sequoia and Tundra are available in Middle East as American new/used imports, they’re not marketed over there and I don’t think they’re even officially sold there. They come imported from USA again so…

differentiating 4×4 and SUV doesn’t make any sense… 4×4 is a term used to describe the 4wd drivetrain of a vehicle and SUV is a body type of vehicle, they’re two completely different things… A Cruiser is as much of an SUV as a Tahoe 🙄

Common sense asked what is a sport car with 4×4.
Anyway no an SUV isn’t only a body type, is also technically different from a 4×4.
SUV were born with an hybrid platform, it is the crossing platform of both 4×4 and sedan.
In the begining 4×4 were existing with sedan, SUV come later through time, and if you don’t beleive me like a lot of guys here, is your choice, but asked to engineers what they think about it, or go check some books.

Toyota Sequioa and Tundra are available in Middle-East, and as Sunil from Pakwheels reported( or the owner), the tundra was also produced as right hand in Australia and sold there.
Ford F150 is the best selling pick-up truck in USA and the most sold car each years.
Ford F150 is selling well but they are better Ford Expedition.
The Chevrolet Tahoe (since 2014) got a good reputation, durability is good not as much as LC, fuel consumption is better than a Toyota land cruiser J200, no wonder Tahoe is an SUV where the LC is a 4×4.
This is the main reason why the new LC won’t go in the USA, because, not a lot of customer is doing off-roading, instead Sequioa is selling like hot cakes out there.
