Sorry for the late reply sir. So, in other words, it seems like another Aloo. 😁

Highly suggest you read this 27 Nov 2o24 article by 91che: https://mp.weixin.qq.com/s/ky8UjZy1gGuWR5ABZ__SRg 中国人造不出百万豪车?不,现在有了!尊界S800入局即对标迈巴赫
Translation for the title: “Can’t the Chinese build a million-dollar luxury car? No, now there is! The Zunjie S800 entered the game against Maybach”
Here are some (translated using online translator) significant points for the deliberation of our readers:

Professor Ji Xuehong, director of the Automotive Industry Innovation Research Center of North China University of Technology, reminded that building an ultra-luxury brand is not a one-day effort. In this field, consumers do not pay too much attention to configuration, power, and black technology, but pay attention to security, privacy, brand concept and service. Therefore, in the process of building ultra-luxury models or brands, independent brands must have long-term planning and sufficient patience in addition to leading technology.

“Chinese car companies have worked hard for so many years, and they have always been hovering in the low-end field, even if they have made breakthroughs in recent years, they have not penetrated into the ultra-luxury brand market. The emergence of Zunjie can inspire more Chinese car companies to jointly move towards the peak of the automotive industry.

In other words, this is the first step for China’s auto industry to become a century-old ultra-luxury brand, and once it is successfully stepped out, perhaps China’s auto industry will quickly enter the next dimension. Therefore, the significance of the birth of the Zunjie cannot be summed up by “entering the ultra-luxury market”. “

The GM of JAC Group who unsurprisingly also happens to be the Party Secretary had this to say among other things: “It is an extremely rare historic opportunity for Chinese brands to continue to move forward and take the path of high-quality development.

In the end, there are a few paragraphs mentioning the recent launches of other ultra-luxury saloons in China.

I hope CSPK looks into that. It has been discussed on other forums but it is very unclear what it would means for the consumer. Will the policy promote local companies and local manufacturing? That, at least for me, is unclear because from what I have seen so far, it seems that taxes on localized parts will be higher. Did they remove the arbitrary 50Kwh battery tax break limit of the last policy? I would love some real clarity on it. Is it legit or just another 'Aloo'? I think this is what the legacy auto companies are afraid of. The legacy companies always though making cars will forever remain so complicated and complex that only a few would ever survive in the sector and they will forever dominate. Now suddenly with the advent of EVs and EREVs etc. and with new manufacturing methods, making cars has become so accessible that even tech companies are now challenging and surpassing the legacy auto crowd. And they have no idea how to counter it. Especially in the case of EVs where their (legacy) classic supply chains models are becoming fast outdated. Less parts, less to go wrong and higher vertical integration of these new companies themselves, are leaving the old guard scratching their heads. 🤣
