Haval is also extremely popular. So is BYD gaining ground.

But it is not only Chinese and Korean brands. The number of Tata and Mahindra pickups in the small commercial segment is becoming high quickly. Hilux (the loading one) is wayyyy to overpriced in Gulf and that gives the inroads to Indian brands.

The construction labour market was already captured by Ashok-Leyland buses.

The long-haul, short-haul and construction truck segment is mostly European and some American brands though.

And let’s talk about the motorcycles! Food delivery services talabat, noon and Deliveroo are the main users of 2-wheelers. Most of the drivers are our Punjabi bros from Pakistan. You can frequently see some turbaned Singh uncle from East Punjab (Indian part of divided Punjab after partition) but he is usually driving his own trailer. When it comes to motorcycles, all the motorcycles are Indian and the bike’s drivers are Pakistani. The 3rd class motorcycles being made in Pakistan aren’t standard enough to be used in developed countries. They can only be exported to developing or under-developed countries. Here’s a news from 02 Jun 2024 https://autojournal.pk/2024/06/02/pak-suzuki-to-export-cars-and-bikes-to-bangladesh/. The Indian-made motorcycles under use of Pakistani guys are mostly Honda, Bajaj or TVS.
1 is Japanese brand the other 2 are local Indian brands.

Pakistan has been left so far behind because of the low quality behaviours of Pakistani automotive industry.

Oh, the last para: the big thing about India-made vehicles is that they are — BS6-compliant low-polluting vehicles. It is actually a good thing that the low-quality obsolete-tech high-polluting vehicles made by the Pakistani auto-assembling mafia only manage to burden the earth with their pollutants inside the geographical boundaries of Pakistan and the rest of the world remains protected. We can only pray that the oil refineries stop using MMT, the deadline of which passed more than 3-4 years ago, and that they begin producing Euro6-level ultra-low sulfur petrol and diesel (the deadline of which passed a few years ago too) and that car companies also begin producing compliant vehicles.

Did you notice the glut of Chang’an, JAC, BYD, MG and Jetour (Chery) vehicles in UAE?
Specially the MG GT and MG 5 is being adopted by companies as pool cars (bulk buyers).
Chinese brands are capturing the market unlike any other.Ch

By: Comparison b/w UAE & Pk auto blogs trends https://carspiritpk.com/pak-suzuki-introduces-dual-tone-swift/#comment-16962 Sun, 30 Jun 2024 09:43:30 +0000 https://carspiritpk.com/?p=84040#comment-16962 In reply to Comprehensive list of car blogs in the UAE.

The UAE auto blogs content and Pakistani auto blogs content is very different, a small comparison for you:

Most of the UAE auto blogs’ articles are ravishing praises of the new ultra-high trim-level or limited production run of an ultra-luxury or sports car. The other stream which UAE automotive blogs majorly focus is on driving licensing. Driving license is the most important qualification you can have in the UAE, making it one of the many searched terms hence the blogs prefer to publish articles on these topics.

In retrospect, both of these subjects are totally irrelevant to the Pakistani market. UAE does not manufacture or assemble cars yet it is a very big local and reexport market. It is a high purchasing power market, while Pakistan is unfortunately perpetually destitute. There are import bans in Pakistan, yet in UAE there is a variety of Gulf-spec purpose-built cars sold by main dealers of the companies, and in addition the market offers further plenty choice of JDM (LHD-converted), China-market, USDM, Canada-model, Taiwan-import and other galore of vehicles in the both forms: either zero-meter import or used orphaned import.

The quality of fuel in UAE is also Euro6 level whereas no restriction on the emission levels of cars hence Euro 2 to Euro 6 cars are available and functioning perfectly smoothly because of the high-grade fuel. The air quality as a resultis much better, with no to low sore throat or other allergic reactions. The fuel is more expensive than Pakistan but so is the purchasing power parity. In Pakistan, the fuel is ultra-low quality adulterated obsolete-tech MMT-laden high-sulphur Euro2 quality. Refineries and automakers had been given the deadline to upgrade to Euro5 by 01 Jan 2021 which has still not been complied to https://carspiritpk.com/two-years-and-still-no-euro-5-cars/. MMT has also been banned since 01 May 2019 deadline but the refineries still continue to use it without shame, including the government-owned refineries. Multiple successive government have come & gone without doing anything.

Now I will come to what the Pakistani blogs are publishing:
1] About the classic cars, Pakistanis are people of great taste and VCCCP and other clubs and private individuals own and demonstrate some rare classic gems in shows like PakWheels Auto Show.
2] Lamenting about the lack of choice, obsolete designs and shapes, underpowered, featurelessness and lack of safety and quality in locally-assembled cars.
3] Drooling over the occasional imported ultra-expensive car which happens to be imported by one of the agriculturalists, factory tycoons or YouTubers.
4] Articles about late deliveries, stopped bookings or how one or two companies have gone bankrupt or unresponsive after taking customers’ money.
5] Increasing car theft.
6] Hopeful article again and again over the years how Mehran Bolan and Ravi will be replaced with newer models.
7] Covering some major traffic accident on the highways in which major loss of life limb or goods.
8] Increase in tolls and fines.
9] Topics about how Pakistani consumer had choice and variety before the 90s after which Japanese auto brands hijacked the national policy and resulted in suffocation.

Clearly the automotive market sector in the UAE and the automotive blogs and the automotive market sector and automotive blogs in Pakistan are in completely different worlds even though living on the same planet just a few hundred kilometers apart.

Best of luck in your new endeavours. Tbh going/living in the Emirates is going to give you another perspective and greater depth of perception into the automotive world, and will only increase the quality of your content.

For the time being we commenters can keep the website alive by posting updates below existing articles.

You can also hire a content-writer to post run-of-the-mill articles such as the occasional launches. The writer can instead do a “weekly summary” type of article once in a week, maybe or maybe not linking to other quality resources. Meanwhile yourself only compile and post on unique and extraordinary topics which are your signature trademark.

You can also begin a forum on this website, so that the contribution %age of visitors becomes greater while your contribution becomes smaller.

I am currently in UAE looking for new opportunities in life. Unfortunately, CarSpiritPK is not my top priority anymore. But will try to write something whenever I have some time.
