not just cars, their mlitary equipment,, fighter planes, ships are all very ugly. i remember in movie PACIFIC RIM they showed a russian robot Cherno Alpha and man it was such a true representation of what russia produces 🙂

Russian women are usually absolutely gorgeous – a sign of blessing of the nature.
Russian buildings are very attention catching and visually pleasing due to their geometric shapes and colour combination – a demo of the great artistic aesthetic of Russian architects. If you don’t believe you don’t need to go to Moscow to observe. Just look at the pink-tea coloured Russian consulate in Karachi.
Russian literature is full of quality gems – an indication of the remarkable god-gifted talent of the poets, prose-writers and video content is their ability to appreciate beauty in circumstances of hardship and deliver an patently beautiful creation.

But ,,
Russian cars have always been extremely ugly. Look at the variety of Lada ,, all of them terribly ugly. The variety of military trucks and commercial trucks coming out of Russia.

In the automotive world, vehicle design has always been Euro-centric. Japanese car designers have long been copying European designs with utter disregard to any original Japanese creation. Only small hints of Japanese traditional elements have ever been taken in Japanese designs. Chinese companies all have hired European designers since they found out early on that consumer behavior has always been shaped by and slanted towards European designs. Korean auto manufacturers also always preferred to outsource design to European design studios, no matter how radical the design shift may be. American brands ,,, oh don’t talk about them, the US is a nation of white Anglo-Saxon immigrants ,,, they’re Europeans from a few generations ago.

But ,,
the Russians have always been non-compromising when it comes to automotive design. They only use their original thought no matter how ugly it looks. Why, at the birthplace of such extreme beauty and creativity, the automotive designers have such terrible inspirations is a question worth researching.

Not only that, Russians vehicles always lag behind in technology, reliability, durability, fuel consumption, emissions and crash safety.
