Refer to my discussion with my Chinese friends, most of them who commute to office have already switched to EVs: Zeekr, Polestar or Tesla. The ones who need to travel long-route still have their BMW 7, AUDI A6L/A8L, MG or Honda (for example the ones who work in a city and frequently up-down to their village). This is helping improve the air quality, since the coal-manufactured electricity is also done at far from population centers and now very few, if any, emissions devices are left in the cities. The stoves are electric, geysers are solar and all the scooties are electric (the engined-motorcycle can only be bought in rural areas by a person with rural domicile), all subway/metros are electric, buses are either fully electric or diesel hybrid, and now most town-dwellers also shifted to EVs, the only remaining source of emissions is cigarette smokers. And mind you despite all the fame about China’s poor urban air quality, most places there have better air quality than anywhere in Pakistan.
