Oh that’s great to hear! I was scratching my head thinking how will they manage to sell every car with the same engine in it 🤣

This things seems to have the 1.2L turbo in the lowest spec. There are two more options and both hybrids. Both are 1.6 L turbos. The only difference seems to be between the tuning of the engine. One produces 180hp and the other 225hp. Torque is the same for both at 360nm. The electric motor is rated at the same output for both variants as well. 109hp and 320 nm torque.

So like most companies nowadays, it’s a push towards electrification. Simple ICE engines options are being phased out.

This is how you do a fastback crossover. Take notes and for the love of sanity and our eyes, improve the monstrosity that you call the crown crossover. 😱😲😂

But still, even then I feel as a big organization of multiple car companies they should at least have more engines developed for their consumer level vehicles instead of powering their entire fleet on one engine 😅 A simple 1.5T that churns 200hp must be more than enough for a sedan or a large CUV.

These engines (and other parts) are shared by many vehicles of the PSA group. Peugeot, Citroen, Opel and Vauxhall all share parts to keep costs down.

This particular 1.2 engine is used in all Peugeot vehicles, from the smallest 208 to the largest 5008 crossover but in different states of tune; 99hp, 128hp and 155hp. Customers haven’t really complained about 1.2 feeling particularly underpowered so I’m not concerned.

Isn’t it weird that they’re putting the same engine in like, three different cars? This car’s bigger and more fancier meaning more weight to carry around, won’t it put more strain on the tiny engine than what a 2008 would put? I feel like they should at least have two engine options for this car; one being the 1.2 turbo and another being a 4 cylinder turbo. Or maybe they’re just cutting costs 🤷‍♂️

I wish Peugeot launched more unique products in Pakistan, I’m willing to bet this won’t be that much more expensive than 2008 but will have twice the wow factor.
