As per him Corona was exceptionally well-built, so much so that on one of his travels, its tyre burst, it careered in a ditch and did two somersaults however, not only Allhamdulillah everyone was fine, the car itself was fine.

In those days cars used to be RWD. You can consider it the Altis Grande of that time. In the 70s the Corolla used to be so small and cramped with microscopic cabin and trunk and small engines … Corona was a best fit because at the time even the Cressida was unknown. Cressida mainly became common from late third generation onwards, and most models were fourth generation, so in the 1970s unless you had an American car, you had a Corona.

Corolla properly captured the market from 1982 (fourth generation) which pushed Corona to the background.

Later on traveled in third generation RT40 black taxis many times. It was too small on the inside. It had this specific revolving window in the front doors that didn’t roll down which could be opened to receive a pressurized outdoor breeze directly. (Is it called a valence window or front quarter-glass?)
