Yes bhabhi ji you pointed it out correctly but let me present a deeper version of your theory.

First of all the 8th gen Suzuki Alto also took inspiration from 1st gen Alto (FX).

In the North American market, Lexus has already been selling the LX (LC J300) and GX (Prado) since a long time. Recently the Ford Bronco has been relaunched after a gap of 1996-2021 and it has been enjoying some great sales success with over a 100,000 pieces sold per year. OTOH the Land Cruiser J200 was discontinued in the US in 2021. Why? Because Toyota could see that while the Lexus and Ford cater to 2 totally different market segments, there is no way a 2007-model LC can compete with a 2021 model Bronco. In 1998 the J100 LC Amazon/Cygnus was specifically designed to be large and comfort-oriented for the US target market with Toyota’s first V8 engine, whereas the Prado name (which used to be a trim level till that point) was spun off into a totally different vehicle in 1996 as a “rest-of-the-world” product, in preparation for the release of a bulked-up J100.

Ford couldn’t take away sales from Lexus but it could sure beat the decade+ old LC. In fact the news coverage from 2021 shows that the LC J200 wasn’t selling .. at .. all! And Ford exploited this open gap in the market. Ford launched the Bronco with a delivery date of over 6 months! And that’s how the LC J200 was totally discontinued from the US. As Ford came up with a medium-sized SUV targeted for semi-off-road purposes, Toyota could not prepare a large land-barge to compete with it – hence the play on words: Prado J250 being launched as the “main” LC in the US in 2023 instead of its real rest-of-the-world name.
And I’m not saying this on my own, see the relevant press pieces from caranddriver, motortrend, motor1 and others, they are all calling it a Bronco-rival and Bronco-competitor.

Since Ford launched a retro-shaped Bronco inspired from their 1st gen Bronco, what did you expect the Japanese “inspiration-takers” to do? Launch a competitor using the same marketing theory! 99% sure if Ford hadn’t gone the “retro-route”, Toyota won’t have either.
In conclusion not only did they copy their own previous design, they also copied the business strategy of their competitor. As you know, this is what the Japanese automakers have been good at doing .. imitation. And if you view it from the other perspective, Japanese car companies are pathetic at market research, they always always fail to watch the market and want to force the consumer to their liking instead of trying to accommodate the customers’ needs & wants, in the end losing sales and bankrupting themselves. It is really apparent how the Japanese car companies are good only till the technician-level mindset in the manufacturing sector – good reliability, good quality, slave-driving levels of pressure on the governments as well as on their suppliers & employees, mass manufacture. But there is a proven track record of how they again & again fail to understand the higher level workings of business – the visual appeal, the consumer research, the market trends, the future prediction – for all these things, they casually resort to imitate the business patterns of European and American companies.

Still waiting for the new price hikes by the local cartel. 12 seems too low. By the time this comes. The land cruiser will be around 20 and this new prado will be around 15. At least!

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lexus_GX#Third_generation_(J250;_2023)

The engine is the same V35A https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_Dynamic_Force_engine#V35A-FTS famous from the J300 LC https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_Land_Cruiser#J300 whereas in fact it has been around since the 2017 5th gen LS 500 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lexus_LS#XF50. Don’t know why the news coverage keeps switching between 3.4L & 3.5L for this same engine.
