Putting power to the wheels in the EV is totally different than in ICE/hybrid. Not only you have to change your concept, you have to see it in a totally different paradigm!

You can have a motor at each axle, you can have a motor at each wheel too, providing fine-tune control of power & torque delivered to each wheel. The traditional sense of 4WD/AWD, locking differential or limited-slip differential doesn’t even exist in EV.

This is one for people who are always lamenting the reduced driveability of EVs or increased maintenance expense or needs. EV 4x4s can provide greater maneuverability at a lower weight than conventional 4x4s because no need for all the weight of diffs, locks and strengthened shafts etc. All that weight capacity can be saved to fit a larger battery. Insha-Allah very soon the solar roofs will have enough energy density to charge a BEVs battery which further increase range. Fossil fuels can’t beat this tech. In the middle of nowhere run out of charge, wait for the sun to rise, get charged up and begin driving.

Buddy this is an EV. Traditional 4*4 or AWD setups don’t apply. It will have two motors. One placed in the front and one in the back for power. This is a STOCK electric truck Rivian R1T taking on one of the most difficult hill climbs in the US. (Hells Gate in Moab, Utah). No fuss-no muss. It’s so quite that everyone is talking normally. If it was an ICE truck you would really see people talking loudly to hear each other because they would be gunning the engine hard to get over some of the obstacles.

Can you please share anything on that. Toyota itself is getting battery tech from various sources such as Panasonic or BYD etc.

I have shared with you many times before. Compostable batteries are being worked on but are many many years or decades away. Toyota is NOT working on them.

If you mean recycling batteries, then a lot of companies are setting up such setups to do just that with China, again, being one of the leaders in providing battery recycling. They have to be. It is big business. Buy back the old batteries recycle the raw materials from them and sell to battery manufactures. Easy way to get hands on raw material (no mining involved) and you save a lot of materials from ending up wasted on landfills.

P.S. If they are bringing Land Cruiser J70 and FJ Cruiser back, they would do really well by re-creating LS 400 as well that vehicle still rule hearts of car enthusiasts and remains a very elegant and thuggish looking car until date.

I just love the way Toyota continues to be benefited from its Toyota Way, they are now going green to make people living in a fanciful world remain shut-up a true inspiration for profitable companies. I guess, it now remains the only company that is simultaneously offering I.C.E., hybrid, P.H.E.V. and Hydrogen based vehicles. Good old Toyota.
