Locally Assembled MG HS PHEV Rolls Off the Assembly Line

MG Motor Pakistan celebrated a historic milestone on 23rd December 2024 by officially rolling out the first locally assembled MG HS PHEV from its assembly line. Bear in mind MG unveiled the MG HS PHEV at this year’s Pakistan Auto Show (PAPS) 2024 held in October.

On the occasion, the company proudly declared:

“The MG HS PHEV—TRUE HYBRID ELECTRIC, Pakistan’s first locally assembled plug-in hybrid, has officially been launched off the assembly line during a grand ceremony at the MG CKD Plant in Lahore.”

The company added that this milestone marks the fulfillment of two key commitments: delivering world-class, feature-packed vehicles on time as pledged and paving the way for the introduction of New Energy Vehicles.

Exterior Features

The 2025 MG HS PHEV sports a bold exterior with matrix LED headlights featuring DRLs and an auto-dip function, 18″ dual-tone diamond-cut alloy wheels, and 3D LED tail lights with 96 LEDs. The dual exhaust system and aggressive front stance with a digital flame grille add to its dynamic appearance, while the improved rear bumper and diffuser complete the design. Additional features include roof rails, a power tailgate, a welcome logo light, and a keyless entry with a push-button start.

Interior Features

The spacious cabin of MG HS PHEV offers sports seats with a mix of leather and PVC, a 6-way powered driver seat, and a 4-way powered passenger seat. The infotainment system includes a 10.1″ touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, complemented by a 12.1″ virtual cockpit. A D-shaped sporty steering wheel, panoramic sunroof with an anti-trap function, and dual-zone climate control enhance comfort. Full-spectrum ambient lighting, 6 speakers, rain-sensing wipers, rear USB ports, rear AC vents, a power tailgate, and an e-parking brake with auto-hold add convenience and sophistication. Rear passengers enjoy additional comfort with foot AC vents, a rear armrest, and one-touch up/down windows with anti-trap functions.

Power and Performance

Equipped with a 1.5L turbocharged petrol engine and an electric motor, the MG HS PHEV generates a combined power of 260 hp and a torque of 370 Nm. The petrol engine produces 160 hp, while the electric motor adds another 120 hp. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7.1 seconds, utilizing a 10-speed EDU2 automatic transmission and a front-wheel-drive system. The vehicle boasts a 16.6 kWh electric battery, delivering up to 58.8 km/L fuel efficiency (WLTP standard) and a practical EV-only range for daily driving. Additionally, it features 3 regenerative charging modes for optimal energy recovery.

Safety Specs

Safety is paramount in the MG HS PHEV, which is equipped with 6 airbags, a 360-degree camera, and front and rear parking sensors. Advanced systems include adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane change assist, forward collision warning, blind spot information system, and rear cross-traffic alert. The vehicle has a 5-star Euro NCAP safety rating and incorporates MG Pilot intelligent safety systems, such as Traffic Jam Assist (TJA), Intelligent Speed Assistance (ISA), and High-Beam Control (IHC).
