Honda Civic Hybrid Wins 2025 North American Car of The Year Award

The Honda Civic Hybrid, the electrified version of America’s favorite compact car, has been named the 2025 North American Car of the Year (NACOTY). This is the fourth time the Civic has received the prestigious award, a record unmatched by any other nameplate in the award’s 30+ year history.

It’s also the second NACOTY win for the 11th-generation Civic and the seventh overall for Honda, with previous accolades awarded to the Civic (2006, 2016, 2022, 2025), Ridgeline (2006, 2017), and Accord (2018). Commenting on the achievement, Honda Auto Sales AVP Jessika Laudermilk said:

“We are honored to have leading automotive journalists select the Honda Civic Hybrid as the North American Car of the Year. Our fun-to-drive hybrid-electric models are a key part of our Honda electrification strategy, and sales of the new Civic Hybrid will ultimately represent about 40% of Civic sales.”

Unveiled for the U.S. market in early 2024, the refreshed 11th-generation Honda Civic brings updated styling and enhanced features across its lineup. Available in both four-door sedan and five-door hatchback configurations, the facelifted Civic caters to a variety of preferences and driving needs.
