If this Alson Group manufactures “a complete range of lighting products”, then can Mr Akbar Allana, Director of Alson Group, or anybody else for that matter, explain the lack of up-to-date lighting techs in the vehicles in Pakistan? Most rickshaws and tractors only come with ancient fresnel refractors lens sealed beams. Most motorcycles come with crystal light which is a refractor type headlight with tungsten bulb. Most cars, trucks and buses come with crystal light refractor housing and halogen bulbs.

Some cars used to come with halogen projector lights. Just a few top trims come with LED projectors. There is no concept of auto highbeams or adaptive LED matrix system. No vehicles at all come with laser headlights.
There is limited concept of headlight-leveling switch or self-leveling headlights.

Why are the LED projector fittings over 3 times as expensive as the conventional halogen reflector housings? Why do we always have to buy imported or kabli?

And I’ve not even begun on the other compulsory and auxiliary lighting in the vehicles.

Oho, what about the street lights?

Not to mention *the low power factor* lighting products sucking on the bloodline of Pakistan. Recently bought a Philips LED tubelight (T8 replacement) and it is clearly written on the label that “PF: >50%”. On measurement, its PF came out to be about 0.66, which means to run this 16W load, we need to extract ~28W of electricity from the PMT.

How is the range complete then?
