Geely bought Volvo and made it more profitable. (Granted, Volvo did go its separate way in 2021 by buying back Geely’s controlling share, but that is another story. Volvo did spend a lot of years under Geely. To both the companies’ benefit.)

Geely bought Proton. A company that was not doing very good even in its home market of Malaysia. It turned it around by letting it use Geely cars rebadged as Proton. Now its doing OK.

A big conglomerate the Dalian Wanda group from China bought the movie making Hollywood firm Legendary Pictures (the new Jurassic world Movies).
