Sir Usman you have good photoshop skills. Can you superimpose a silhouette of high roof of Bolan on the cabin of Ravi? Just to see how it could look? Then this photo can be shown to parts stamping machine operator to see if it is technically doable.

I made this measurement. The Suzuki Ravi (aka Carry daala) has a low-roof and the height from seat cushion to ceiling is barely 35 inches.
The Bolan (aka Carry dabba) has a high-roof, and, its ceiling is around 41″ in height from the front seat cushion.
Because the roof is generally a curved shell, I measured the dimension where it is required: from the cusion to the point where the driver’s head exists in the cabin.

The specified height of the vehicle can be seen here:
Bolan (1845 mm = 72.6 inches): https://suzuki.com.pk/automobile-detail?automobile=4r3y9qgcaavppxfn8xt5dy0ccr
Ravi (1650 mm = 65 inches): https://suzuki.com.pk/automobile-detail?automobile=45fc4er5hjxkmwz2tbasvr2hde

Onbviously the roof is highest somewhere around the mid of the vehicle, not where the head of the driver/front passenger rests.

Now can some of the PAAPAM vendors make a high-roof version of Ravi? They just need to alter one stamped panel and its upholstery/lining. It can easily become an alteration for when people go to rebuild their old Ravis once they rust after a few years of use. Imagine how much less claustrophobic it would be, couple with the fact that Pakistanis are generally tall and it isn’t easy for an adult Pakistani male to fit his backbone inside a 35″ vertical space, hence most are sitting with hunched back and over the years of daily driving of 12+ hours, they are prone to develop cervical and lumbar problems.

You will see these kind of vehicles only get used and made in China and Japan. This isn’t the only one in it’s class, as Buick (an American company) makes one too for the Chinese market only. It’s called the Buick GL8.

Japan has one too, the most popular being the Toyota Alphard.

I think the reason these carriers are more preferred over the usual full size luxury sedans is because of their capability to seat more than 2 people comfortably in the rear. These sometimes even come with seat configurations that face each other, so you can even hold a whole conference inside with four to five people if you needed. You get luxurious comfort, privacy, and the ability to move around and do tasks without being bucketed to your seat’s comfort, unlike a typical full size sedan which can mostly serve as a luxurious method of going from point A to point B in an executive/corporative sense.

Voyah is a brand of Dongfeng and this Dreamer has been designed by Italdesign.

China seems to get most things right these days.

For a country where three-person families are common, they have still found the need for lots of microvans, minivans, luxury vans and MPVs. 2-door sports cars are too rare.

The one most important thing in this van is its driver-centricity, which, as written above, effectively improves driving safety.

Consider the 43-year old cramped design of Suzuki Ravi which has such a low roof the driver can’t even sit properly. Is Ravi the reason of hunched backs and old age problems in our drivers? Who’ll conduct a study for this downtrodden yet most important members of our society? As a society we are so condescending of those who serve us. Luxury cars are being made which are driven only 2 or 3 hours a day whereas truck drivers, bus drivers, van drivers who bring our children to school and bring all our rations to markets and homes suffer endlessly 24×7 in uncomfortable seating positions and hard-to-maneuver vehicles.

This aspect has been discussed before in CSPK https://carspiritpk.com/kia-offers-massive-price-reduction-on-sorento/#comment-8115 and even by the CEO of Lucky Motors (Kia/Peugeot) although from the perspective of emissions (the CEO talked about the fruits of lower emissions in this way “A private car is used very little, maybe 3-4 hours a day. It is the most underutilized resource. If the government truly wanted to reduce emissions and protect the environment, the first entry point for electrification should have been public transport which runs all day long.https://www.brecorder.com/news/40145918/interview-with-asif-rizvi-lucky-motors.
