The updates include thoroughly revised split headlights that features T-shaped new signature LED DRLs. Then there is a wide new grille design that tapers at each end to form what will likely be a new theme for future Hyundai designs. The grille is offered with two distinctive inserts for the ‘Standard’ with conventional mesh type pattern and ‘Luxury’ with a more shield-like design with repeating inverse triangle plates. A new bumper round out the styling changes at the front end.

Subtly widened wheel arches feature along the profile to “accentuate the SUV’s rugged and powerful character”, plus there are new 20” wheels to add to the charisma of the new Santa Fe’s side profile. Towards the rear, the tail-lamps retain the same shape as before, but features new LED signature now. A slender LED band connects the tail-lights, replacing the chrome garnish as found in the outgoing model. There is a revised bumper with grey or satin silver inserts at the rear, along with a reflector band running the width of the design.

Hyundai hasn’t given information related to the new Santa Fe’s engines at this stage however it is being reported that the new Santa Fe will have both hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrains offered for the first time while traditional gasoline engines will also be available alongside. The availability of hybrid powertrains means the new Santa Fe will be more economical and cheaper to run than the current gasoline-powered model.
