China:
Interested in further developing Hydrogen fuel cell tech in the coming years; bringing it into the mainstream.

Toyota:
Will ignore its experience in Hydrogen fuel cell and pursue burning it in ICE cars more inefficiently and with higher emissions/pollution.
Will demo it by driving the single hydrogen combustion engine car they have around race tracks. And by driving I DO mean simply driving. They are NOT competing. It is just a demo lap! What a way to promote its “new” technology.

China: Simple but effective. Clear goal in mind.

Japan: Flailing about like a crazed animal. Doesn’t know what to do with itself.

So now you have spread the nosebleed thing to the whole EV/Battery industry and not just BYD?

People have been dying due to breathing problem caused by smog and birth defects caused by smog have been around for decades, yet that is not the problem right?

Fossil fuels have been drilled for and fracked for decades. Oil spills have caused massive environmental havoc, yet that is all OK. China is now investing heavily in EV and Hydrogen EV. Yet Toyota seems only interested in burning it. But all others are still wrong and Toyota is right! Right?

We are acting mindfully. Do you even have two brain cells to rub together?

In reply to Mehdy Hassan. Children living near those race tracks in which Good Old Toyota will race will breathe good fresh air in like a single hour of the day while Chinese children living in cities where there are hydrogen buses will literally die from nosebleeds the moment they see them

let me get this straight? chinese working on hydrogen on mass level is a topi drama and publicity stunt even when they used an entire hydrogen bus fleet in recent olympics. but a hydrogen race car which will run once in a while on some dedicated tracks is a blessing upon mankind 😀 wah/// good old Toyota

Meanwhile Good Old Toyota has been ranked as the world’s third most obstructive company against climate policies. If they are so considerate about the environment, why did they cheat and not worry about the emissions of their ICEs before this whole hydrogen topi drama?

Strategic diversification theoretically and even practically has already been demonstrated as a better form of business risk management by companies that is why even the corrupt Chinese are also still offering a hybrid and hydrogen vehicle too.
Anyways, the goal is to achieve carbon neutrality, and according to theory it could be achieved by adopting a different approach hydrogen is a varied approach. People privy about EV approach are also aware about the problems it is causing in the lives of large and downtrodden sections of society, nosebleed in children is only a minuscule particle. Other notable problems include and are not limited to mining of lithium, cobalt, non-recyclability of these batteries, world’s reliance on fossil fuel for production of electricity, even corrupt China is still heavily using fossil fuel. I guess Toyota knows about all this and is going by a less riskier approach, good old Toyota, it really remains one of the few large businesses that at-least try and act mindfully.
