Uhmmm, EVs are in the future going to behave in bi-directional manner, as V2H or V2G (vehicle-to-house or vehicle-to-grid). Basically it will be up to the house to choose whether the EV supplies to the house only or net-meter it out to the grid or not.

Current crop of EVs come with a 90 kWh battery, 90 KWh = 90 units.
Considering that the average house has a monthly electricity bill of around 300 units (10 units per day), this means the EV can volunteer its battery power to run the house upto a whole week even after factoring in conversion losses.

The endless possibilities are quickly showing up: charge your EV from solar/wind/renewable/alternate/green energy in the day and then consume it during the night. Running 3 or 4 ceiling fans (75-85W each) and 3 or 4 SMD LED bulbs (min 1W, max 12W), the total load isn’t 400W per hour. For a 10-hour night, use 5 units of electricity including conversion losses etc. and still have 85 kWh remaining for the next day driving.

Imagine how environmental and green and carbon-neutral the world is going to be in just a few years!!!

Tire technology is rapidly evolving, in my limited lifetime I’ve seen non-radial tyres go extinct. Now even the 26-wheelers and motorcycles are on radial tyres. Tyre used to burst at an unimaginable rate and it was very common, in fact as frequent as weekly that you’d get to know someone died in a traffic accident due to tyre burst .. .. now the tyre reliability and durability has increased multifold.

Meanwhile tyres remains a great:
1) source of tyre dust = microplastics which enter into lungs and subsequently the bloodstream. “Blood microplastic content” will be the “blood lead content” metric of this century.
2) dependent on fossil fuels because modern plastics & rubber are derived petro-chemicals hence not carbon neutral.

Progress is happening and luddites can’t stop it hurray!

If he was a caveman (which I’m not saying that he already isn’t, he is in fact a caveman), he would be very against the invention of the wheel, simply because his small cranium would overheat at the thought of an object moving rotationally, and he wants to spend the rest of his life simply dragging his belongings on dirt because that’s the only thing he understands.

Regardless of what this highly intelligent specimen says that has nothing to do with the topic in discussion, EVs are eating thru tires faster simply because of more powerful and instant torque.

But this isn’t a bad thing, since problems like these can bring innovations and improvements to an industry that has more or less stayed the same for a long time. We are now likely going to have tires that will last longer, have less environmental impact and more grip simply just to mitigate this issue.

But for some reason, our big brained philosopher has to blame Pakistanis for some reason thanks to his own shortcomings.
